Tracesmart

The Pensions Regulator record-keeping guidance states that poor record-keeping can have a negative impact upon buy-outs; if a scheme cannot guarantee their member data is up-to-date, it will delay the buyout process and stop financial directors from acting at the optimum time.
To enable successful buy-outs and ensure member record accuracy, Tracesmart has developed a range of services which allow you to:
• Certify scheme member records are up-to-date
• Trace any volume of lost and deferred members
• Conduct comprehensive existence checks
• Predict member marital status and confirm existence of a spouse
Come and have a chat with us at the Buyout Forum or call 029 2047 4150 for more information.

Watson Wyatt

Watson Wyatt's specialist Settlement Solutions Team works with both trustees and sponsoring employers of pension arrangements to help them plan and implement settlement or risk reduction strategies. This includes products and solutions to settle part or all of the liability (ie buy-in and buy-out, both full and partial), products that provide insurance against specific risks (ie longevity swaps), or those that offer potential opportunities to mitigate or better manage selected risks. This is a highly complex field where mistakes can be very costly, so schemes need advisers who have a proven track record and deep experience in defined benefit actuarial and investment consulting, as well as the know-how to work with, and influence, insurance companies. Partnering with our clients, Watson Wyatt’s Settlement Solutions Team can:

Provide an initial focus on helping clients clearly articulate their requirements, developing an overall strategy for de-risking their pension scheme, and creating a detailed plan of action.
Establish a governance framework so that decisions can be taken effectively and swiftly
Monitor the performance of the plan against defined triggers in real time
Analyse member information held and additional data required to optimise any risk transfer, as well as conducting detailed data gathering exercise to fill all gaps.
Coordinate and articulate a comprehensive communications plan for all stakeholders
Project manage the entire process end-to-end, including engaging, managing, co-ordinating and communicating with the actuaries, lawyers, investment consultants, covenant assessors, financial advisers and insurance companies, to ensure the process stays on track to deliver on key milestones and goals.
Manage a provider selection and quotation process, leading the detailed contractual discussions (including negotiating strong additional security), developing an appropriate hedging and investment strategy, and undertaking a covenant assessment of the insurer.
Leverage our insurance industry expertise to secure what our client needs rather than what the insurer might wish to provide, which can favourably impact the transaction costs.
